This symposium was conceived and planned
by Rem Koolhaas.
The changes Asian nations are currently undergoing are changes any city necessarily
sees in the process of its modernization. The symposium analyzed and verified
what forces had actually formed today's Asian cities, from diverse aspects of
architecture, economy, business, politics and culture, and introduced new arguments
and perspectives on this region.
