Kumamoto Artpolis has entered a new phase. In the project's new structure, "Dialogue with the local community, networking with the world" has been proposed as the main theme of efforts to build in harmony with the existing city. One emblematic project is "Our city-making," an experiment in constructing buildings required for the local community only after vigorous discussion with local residents. Our panel will discuss the potential and problems of this new method while reporting on the methods used and successes obtained in several localities. |
