Herzog and de Meuron define architecture
as "a tool of perception". They have pursued a highly original theme, "diverse
perception in architecture".
Intensely interested in contemporary art, they have explored the relationship
between architecture and diverse perceptions not at the conceptual level, but
in actual architectural projects in collaboration with artists.
This exhibition, featuring the unique collaboration between the architects and
Thomas Ruff, an established photographic artist, was extremely inspiring and imaginative.
