The title of the original exhibition
"THE PLACE OF PUBLIC ARCHITECTURE" has a double meaning; physical sites on which
buildings for public use are built and the role of architects in defining the
public space in the city.
The exhibition, featuring some of Koolhaas' projects, focused on urban planning
and public architecture, showcased how the architect had addressed various problems
concerning the city and public spaces therein.
The exhibits also included some installations displayed in outdoor spaces outside
the gallery to convey Koolhaas' message about the city to people living in Tokyo.
